Growing the Hive

In my last blog I shared about the Hippos to Honeybees metaphor. This metaphor powerfully describes the transformation seen in young people as churches encourage them to move from Consumers to Creators. During the last few years we have seen new C.E. groups begin in Kenya, Pakistan, Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Rwanda and Sierra Leone. We have discussions taking place with people in Bangladesh, Belize, the Cayman Islands, Chuuk and Kosrae in the FSM, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Finland, Haiti, Indonesia, Liberia, Poland, Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Uganda. We even have the possibility of sharing with a pastor in Qatar! There is incredible interest in C.E. People are searching for ways to develop passionate Christ-followers. C.E. has been proven to be effective in any church setting, regardless of socio-economic status, ethnicity or geographic location. C.E. currently exists in thirty-five countries/people groups. Imagine it growing across each region with every people group around the world! By God’s grace and your partnership, this growth strategy can become reality through people taking the following five steps.


The growth strategy begins with all of us taking the step to “Imagine the Impact” God can make. Ephesians 3:20 reads, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us.” We begin with prayerful attitudes to connect God’s heart with our imagination so He can do even more than we expect.

Step Two - PRAY!

Join me by setting the alarm on your phone to ring every day at 9:38. When the alarm sounds remember that God says in Matthew 9:38 that we are to ask for workers to go into the harvest field. Next, dedicate specific time for prayer and fasting on the first Thursday of every month. Finally, place Prayer Week on your annual calendar beginning with the Sunday closest to February 2nd (C.E.’s birthday) and continuing throughout that week as we call out to God to grow His kingdom. This year over fifteen countries participated with young people leading worship services before engaging in the week’s daily devotional messages. Please pray deeply for Christian Endeavor’s global network and imagine the impact God will make.
